Tea Party Anyone? The Older People’s Tea Party, is an eagerly anticipated event that happens just once a year and sees around 150 older people descend upon the union for an afternoon of tea, cake and entertainment. It’s a great way to improve relations between students and older people from the surrounding community and great fun is had by all. We would appreciate any help towards food preparation, serving food and drink on the day and the all important clear up afterwards. You don't need to be CRB checked to help out. Sign up for this event on the EVENTS PAGE of the website and you won’t regret it!

What:
The time has arrived! This year's Older People's Tea Party will be held on the 15th of February in the Riley Smith Hall. Come join us for a day of fun, food and activities with 100 elderly people from the local community. If you would like to volunteer for this event and help us with any aspect of the day whether it be setting up, food preperation, greeting the guests, or the main part of the day itself-which involves, serving food, talking to guests, and running a raffle and bingo, then come along!
You can volunteer all day or for a portion of the day-any help would be greatly appreciated, and we'll have lot of fun along the way:)
You DON'T need a CRB,just make sure you have had an Action induction (which you can sign up and go to on the 31st of Jan or the 6th of February), and we will be having a volunteer briefing a week before, to let you guys know exactly what is going on.
volunteer briefing for older people's tea party
When: 7th February 2012 (5:30 pm-6:30 am)
What:
Hi everyone, I will be emailing round tomorrow (i.e. sat the 4th of February) with full details on briefing (i.e. location), but there will be a volunteer briefing for this year’s Older People’s Tea Party on Tuesday the 7th of February at 5.30pm. This is compulsory for all who want to volunteer, but if anyone has any real trouble attending then please do not hesitate to let us know via the email adress (olderpeoplesteaparty@leedsaction.co.uk). In the email I send out I will attach a medical form which is nice and short but everyone must complete. It would be fab if you could complete this before the briefing but if you have run out of printer credits or have trouble printing we will have a few available to fill in at the briefing
you do not have to click attending on this event to come along to the briefing if you are already signed up to the tea party itself
THANKS:)
