Meet the Exec
President: Kim Cooper
Hello and welcome to Action! My name is Kim and I'm the Action President for the next academic year. Action is a student-led volunteering organisation, which wants to prove that students can do a lot more with their time at university than just drink and sleep all day! We're all about students having a positive impact on the local community through volunteering projects, whilst gaining important skills and experiences which will enhance their CVs.You could be doing anything from taking kids rock climbing on activity packed weekends, to chilling out with a cuppa at the old people’s home, or even some arts and crafts at a local after school club. All of our projects are run by student coordinators, and our student exec team is there to offer support. They will also sortout some amazing socials and events so that as well as making a difference, you can meet some really cool people. This year, Action has mixed things up a bit. We’ve introduced some new projects, as well as keeping all the old favourites. We have scrapped membership fees, and moved our signing up process to being online, making it easier for you to get involved. Anyway, less talk, more Action!
Hope to see you soon,
Kim xxx

Our job is to promote Action to students. We do this in lots of ways, including: through the student media (LSTV, LSR, Leeds Student newspaper), posters, the website, and the all-important handbook! Pick one up from outside the Volunteering Office (upstairs in the union) - they've got all the info on Action and it's projects. If you've got any fresh ideas for how we can get more students on-board, send us an email or come and see us for a chat.
