1. Projects

Action runs a range of projects that all work within the local community - there will be something to suit everyone’s tastes. Action coordinates projects with children, older people and the environment. Projects run frequently throughout the year, so there will always be something to get involved in, whether it is every week or just once a term. Action is completely free to get involved with, none of our volunteering projects have any costs. Also there are no ongoing committments, every single event goes up on the website as a single event for you to sign up for, so you'll never have to do anything when you get  busy!!

There are two types of projects: student-led and referral projects. Student-led projects are run entirely by Action. Each has two project co-ordinators who are responsible for fundraising, planning and running the project. The project coordinators are elected at the Action AGM, which is held in March. Referral projects are run by external groups in the community; in this situation Action acts as a link between the volunteering opportunities and the volunteers.

2. Driving, Publicity, Fundraising, Sponsorship, Socials

As well as the project volunteers we have a series of ‘teams’ which help our projects to run. These teams offer a different set of skills and experiences to those which projects offer, and any additional help in these areas is always greatly appreciated.

3. Running Action itself

This is your chance to have a role in the running of Action!

We hold an AGM each year where our members vote in the exec for the coming year. Each year we also hold interviews to give our members the chance to become a project coordinator!
